How the UNILAG Hostel Allocation & Balloting Works
UNILAG uses a random balloting system to allocate hostel bed spaces fairly. Here’s how it works:
Only students who successfully apply during the window are included in the ballot
Bed spaces are assigned randomly to applicants
If you are selected, you must pay within one week to confirm your space
Unpaid or unclaimed spaces will be revoked and reassigned
Payment instructions will be available immediately after the ballot is released.
Restrictions for Some Hostel Residents
The following categories of students are not allowed to participate in the hostel balloting:
Current residents of:
El-Kanemi Hall 2
Gbajabiamila Hall
Women Society Hall
Other designated hostels managed outside the central allocation system
The Student Affairs Division maintains a list of restricted residents. Any student violating this rule may face the Students’ Disciplinary Board (SDB) for misconduct.

Complete all course registrations before applying
Pay all university dues, including LAGMOBILE
Apply early to avoid last-minute technical issues
